The Town Commission will have a new look next March, but there will be no municipal election. Only two people filed for the two seats that will be up. Ted Dahl, a long time town resident and currently serving on the Planning and Zoning Board was the only candidate to file for seat 3. Curtis Blocker, the incumbent and currently serving as vice-mayor, was unopposed for seat 4. Dahl will succeed Jerry Knight, who served four terms and chose not to run again.

Winners for decorations in the lighted home contest and the lighted boat parade, picked on December 8 and December 10 respectively, were:

Mother Nature provided a perfect setting for the town’s annual tree lighting at Harold Radcliffe Park on December 2. One of the biggest turnouts in the events history took advantage. They reveled in the food, drink, colorful lights, and, most especially, the appearance of Santa Claus. Some of the magic moments follow:

The holiday events conclude on Saturday, December 17, with Santa’s annual visit to the neighborhoods of North Redington Beach and Redington Shores.
