Other Commission Action In November
In addition to the election ordinance, the Commission held first readings on three other measures. Final action will be taken in December. Details are available at Town Hall.
The Commission also passed resolutions supporting a county proposal to consolidate land use and transportation planning by placing both under a single board and staff that will serve both the Pinellas Planning Council and Metropolitan Planning Organization. New state legislation and the governor’s approval of a reorganized board will be sought in 2011 to make the change happen. The proposal has received wide support throughout the county.
